November 2021

We’re wrapping up a busy year in the Bagot lab.

We welcomed new grad student, Serena Wu, and Fulbright student, Shama Huq, and were happy to welcome a cohort of undergrads back to the lab.

We were thrilled to secure pilot grants to support our collaboration with Dr. Kieran O’Donnell developing translational mouse models for perinatal depression.

Congratulations to Liz and Gabrielle for passing their candidacy exams and to Rand for her CIHR fellowship!

We celebrated our lab’s 5 year anniversary!

Eshaan published a review with our collaborator Dr. Anna Weinberg on ambiguity and conflict, Joëlle published a review on chronic stress depression models for female rodents and Jessie and Vedrana published commentaries highlighting important new research into mechanisms of depression. We also wrapped up our first paper in an ongoing collaboration with Dr. Mallar Chakravarty.

There were posters and talks in virtual spaces and we’re all looking forward to sharing our research at more in person events in the coming year!

Finally, among our proudest achievements- a new postdoctoral office with a view of downtown Montreal.

A lot has happened in the last 6 months…

We worked together to safely shutdown and re-open our lab.

We welcomed two new lab members, Dr. Rand Eid and Pedro Bordignon.

We had papers accepted including new collaborations with MANATEE Lab and Otto Lab. Congratulations to lead authors Eshaan, Megan & Jessie and the rest of the teams!

Jessie & Eshaan also presented our first virtual posters at virtual FENS.

Finally, Rose’s Canada Research Chair was announced.

Most of all, we’re excited to be back in the lab to continue to ramp-up our research!
